My Approach

You deserve an approach that is tailored to your unique and individual needs and experience, so I WILL NOT be coming into our first session with a rigid plan that I use with everyone. When we meet, I’ll start by spending some time getting to know you, your life, and what brings you into therapy. Then we’ll come up with a plan that feels right for addressing your needs and goals.

I incorporate various therapeutic techniques into my work. I place a lot of emphasis on your emotions: how you feel during the stories you tell, and what it feels like to be sharing them with me. I bring in elements of talk therapy and attachment theory, emotional processing, mindfulness, coping skills, storytelling, trauma-work and more.

As an artist, I also want to know about what you’re reading and watching. The art we consume and how we relate to it can provide insight into ourselves. I come in with an open mind, ready to listen, validate, and challenge or push where necessary. We’ll talk about the things that are difficult to discuss with other people in your life, and at a pace that is comfortable for you. Therapy isn't easy. If it was, everyone would do it. There will be challenges, but also laughter and I'll be there with you every step of the way.

I invite you to schedule a consultation today to answer any questions you may have and determine if we are the right fit for your therapy journey.
